This article is about the location. For the mod that, see everred.

Mt. Everred is a fictional mountain featured in the mods everred and foreverred. The mountain is characterized by its twin peaks, each with a distinct climbing trail.

Areas

"Beginnings", the intro level of the Evergreen Foothills.

Evergreen Foothills

Mt. Everred is surrounded by an expanse of grassy slopes named the Evergreen Foothills. While not appearing to be part of the mountain itself, both Foreverred and Everred present the player with their first Gem here.

In Everred, this area makes up 0m-500m, while in Foreverred it instead stretches from 0m-900m. This area consists of exclusively single-screen levels in both mods, and all six of the levels from the original mod's Evergreen Foothills were updated and return in Foreverred.

"Graveyard of the Fallen", the intro level of the Forgotten Cliffside.

Forgotten Cliffside

The Forgotten Cliffside makes up the bottom half of Mt. Everred, and features light purple rock with numerous vines and sprouts. At the base of the mountain is a Memorial:

-- mount everred --

this memorial to those

who skipped the gem

This is a hint to both mods' alternate routes and references their high difficulty.

In Everred, this area makes up 600m-1000m, while in Foreverred it instead stretches from 1000m-1900m. Foreverred introduces single-axis scrolling levels in this area, and while most of the levels from the original mod's Forgotten Cliffside reappear in some form, they were much more thoroughly reworked to fit Foreverred's different selection of gameplay mechanics.

The only level of Ancient Trench in Foreverred

Ancient Trench

The Ancient Trench is an area exclusive to Foreverred, though is not shown on the mod's title screen art. This location houses the second gem, moved from its original location.

This area does not exist in Everred. In Foreverred, it is comprised of one level that is slotted between Forgotten Cliffside and Everred Peaks.

The climax of Everred Peaks in both mods: Checkpoint 2 in Foreverred and 1500m in Everred.

Everred Peaks

After climbing past the Forgotten Cliffside and approaching the mountain's twin summits, the rocks and plant life of the mountain turn a reddish hue.

the gem is located within a chest at the bottom of this area In Everred.

In Everred, this area makes up 1100m-1500m. In Foreverred, this area is comprised of four large scrolling levels that in total contain 14 of the summit's 16 checkpoints. Five of the six original Everred Peaks levels were reworked to fit inside these scrolling levels, while the remaining level (originally 1400m) was instead moved to Forgotten Cliffside.

Summit

In both Everred and Foreverred, this area contains two levels: "Summit Approach" and "Summit".

a red flag sits at the very top of this peak.

The base of Everred Spire in Foreverred

Everred Spire

The upper summit is much thinner and taller than the Peaks, and is comprised of several smaller sub-areas.The bottom third of the Spire is of a similar elevation as the Peaks, and features similar flora and coloration.

The middle third of the spire is located at the cloud layer, and is surrounded by a thick fog. Otherwise, it is quite similar to the bottom layer in regards to color and flora.

The top third of the spire reaches above the clouds, and features pink-colored rock.

At the base of the Spire is a memorial:

-- everred spire --

turn back now lest you

fall like those before

This implies that in the past people have perished on the Spire climb. It is likely intended as a warning to both in-universe climbers and players, as the climb up the Spire is very difficult.

True Summit

This peak's summit was largely featureless in the original mod, but a trans flag was added to the location in the remake.

Trivia

The name "Mt. Everred" is a portmanteau of "mt. Everest" and "red".
